White Silk Shirts?

This is a topic and a subject that no one can deny from not knowing. Isn’t it?  White Silk Shirt yes you heard me right? It is basically a garment worn and used by more extensively men and the list includes women nowadays too, even they wear the white silk shirts as much as men do. In British English it is defined more as a garment with collars and cuffed sleeves whereas in American English it is a garment worn by men to cover the upper body and it’s an all time catch for a wide variety of the garments.

Also when we are debating on a topic related to men and women dressings, especially the silk blouses tailored for women which can be more effectively described as they are light, airy as well these are found in extensive huge collections which we term as wide variety, as we all know women are too choosy when it comes to shopping and that too when it is all about shopping colored white made up of silk shirts and can be worn in different styles or can say manner. White shirts are suitable for both formal dressing as well as casual dressings. Those white shirts and that too which are made up with silk or silk made shirts are always so eye catchy and dressy.

History

The silk white shirts were first worn by the women and seen in 1860 by European and American women. Earlier these shirts were only worn by men. The silk shirts came into existence in the early 18th century which were worn by men of course and it was none other than a freedom fighter Giuseppe Garibaldi and was later popularized Empress Eugenie of France

The first white silk shirt ever to be documented in a film was in 1771 in the movie “To give the shirt off one’s back” Later in1827 Hannah Montague who was a house wife in upstate of New York invented the detachable collared white silk shirt. She came up with the idea as she was tired of washing her husband’s shirt when only the collar needed the wash. By 1930 the collar became permanent and  popular as well.

Parts of shirts

The shirt is basically made up of so many parts and also it is a wondering topic that how simple and sober a white silk shirt may look but when it comes to the proper construction of a shirt you will come to know how differently shirts are constructed for both casual and formal use. Though there is hardly any difference between a casual white shirt and a formal white shirt. The only difference is the way a collar is tailored while on the other hand how a sleeve cuff is stitched to the shirt or the type of buttons which comes along the shirt. Now the buttons can be either press buttons or the regular styled buttons, these things actually define what type of shirt it is actually?

The parts of the shirt include as follows:-

Shoulder & arms

Sleeves

Cuffs

Lower hem

Body

Neck

Pockets
